FXR Alpha Page: A Quick Look
FXR Alpha Page is one of the oldest and largest Facebook groups for Harley-Davidson FXR owners. It started in May 2008 and has close to 18,000 members. The group is private, but anyone can find it and ask to join.
The focus is narrow on purpose. It covers only FXR models and variants built from 1982 to 1994, plus the 1999-2000 CVO bikes. The rules are short: keep it FXR, price for-sale items realistically, run raffles elsewhere, and no drama.
It's busy, with about 30 new posts a day and 360 a month. Most are tech questions on Mikuni carbs, petcocks, wiring and the like. There are also parts for sale, paint color questions, builds, restorations, and ride photos from FXR Friday, Sturgis and Biketoberfest. The tone is friendly and practical.
The Files Section
The Files tab holds 31 items: 14 PDFs, 11 images, 5 zip archives and a spreadsheet. The best of them are real shop references:
- 1984-1990 FLT/FXR Service Manual
- 1991-1992 FXR and Police parts catalogs
- 1988 parts catalog and the 1971-1984 FX parts manual
- A color-traced 1991 FXR wiring diagram
- Guides for VOES tuning, Dyna 2000i ignition and starter solenoid repair
- H-D paint color codes, 1987-2007
The weak spot is organization. There are no folders, just one list sorted by date, and some files have vague names like "image.jpg" or "fxr pdf.pdf." There's filler too, such as wallpaper zips and random photos. One member noted that only the first 50 pages of the service manual loaded on a phone.
Bottom line: Any FXR owner should join. The tech help is excellent, and Files is a solid free library once you dig past the clutter.
