FXRD Sport Glide Grand Touring
A one-year luxury touring version of the FXRT, with a trunk, stereo and floorboards.
Overview
Rider describes the 1986 FXRD Sport Glide Grand Touring as an FXRT with floorboards, rubber-mounted bars, a premium stereo, full luggage, a two-into-one exhaust and a special trim package (Rider, Sep 2017). Hot Bike calls it the FXRD Sport Glide Deluxe and notes its trunk (Hot Bike, "Separating the Men From the Boys").
Its rear suspension used one air shock and one coil-spring shock, and Rider calls it the last Big Twin with an enclosed chain (Rider, Sep 2017).
Rider, Hot Bike and Moto Gallery all place it in 1986 (Rider, Sep 2017; Hot Bike, "Separating the Men From the Boys"; Moto Gallery FXR overview). Some owners' sources mention 1985 bikes too unverified.

Known issues
Common problems across the FXR family, by model year: Known Issues →
Missing fairing and bag parts
Buyer's guides note that FXRT and FXRP fairing, bag and trim parts are often missing or swapped on used bikes (Moto Gallery FXR overview).
Rubber mounts and stabilizer links
The whole design depends on three elastomer mounts and two adjustable stabilizer links (Rider, Sep 2017). Buyer's guides suggest checking them on any used FXR (Moto Gallery FXR overview). Typical wear symptoms and replacement intervals unverified.
