Typical price is for a bike in decent, mostly stock shape. It comes from auction sales and dealer asking prices, so treat it as a guide, not a quote. The three CVOs are priced together from 15 data points. Thin means four or fewer data points, so take those ranges as rough. Rounded to $500.
Prices by condition
| Condition | What it looks like | Where it lands |
|---|---|---|
| Project | Doesn’t run, missing parts, or no title. | Under the low end |
| Rider | Runs and rides. Honest miles, bolt-ons, some wear. | Low end to middle |
| Clean, near stock | Close to stock, good paint and tins, lower miles, paperwork in hand. | Middle to high end |
| Show or collector | Very low miles, original, top shape. | High end and above |
Where it lands is against that model’s typical price above. At the very top, low-mile survivors, mostly CVO FXR4s, have brought and asked $16,500 to $18,500. Concours restorations and real race bikes sell one at a time, so they aren’t priced here.
What moves the price
- Model. The Police FXRP and the CVO FXR4 sit at the top. The common FXRS, FXR and FXRT sit at the bottom.
- Originality. Original paint and stock parts bring the most. Tasteful bolt-ons are fine. Big-inch motors and Twin Cam swaps narrow the buyer pool, whatever they cost to build.
- Miles. Low miles help, most of all on the CVOs. Honest miles with records beat a mystery odometer.
- Condition. Frame rust, a tired motor and beat tins cost more than anything bolted on.
- Evo vs Shovel. The 1982 and 1983 bikes have the Shovelhead, Evo from 1984 on. We don’t have enough Shovel FXR prices yet to say what that does to value.
- Paperwork. A clean title in hand is the baseline. No title or a branded title cuts the price hard.

How much is a Harley FXR worth?
Most clean, mostly stock FXRs with average miles are worth about $7,000 to $11,000 in 2026. Across all models the range runs from about $5,000 to $18,000. To price one bike, use the FXR Archive FXR Value Calculator.
Why are FXRs so expensive?
Harley only built the FXR from 1982 to 1994, plus three short CVO runs in 1999 and 2000, so no new ones are coming. Riders want the frame: it is stiff, it holds a line, and the rubber mounts keep the shake off the bars. Clean, close to stock bikes bring the most.
Which FXR is cheapest?
The FXRS Low Rider. Its typical range starts lowest, about $5,000 to $10,500, and it is the most common FXR, so there are more to pick from. The much rarer FXRC starts as low on thin data, and the FXR Super Glide, FXRT Sport Glide and FXLR start close behind.
Are FXRs going up in value?
Interest is. The FXR Interest Index, our measure of FXR search interest, hit a ten year high in May 2026, and September 2026 was up 62% on September 2025. Interest is not price, and our price data does not go back far enough to call a price trend yet. We will update this page as the data grows.
Where the numbers come from
Model ranges come from the price research behind the FXR Value Calculator: 64 data points for the FXR family, including 22 auction and consignment sales from 2018 to 2026 (Bring a Trailer, Mecum, Bonhams) and asking prices from specialist FXR dealers. Bikes with celebrity history, built big-inch motors, concours restorations and bikes that aren’t FXRs are left out.
We check the ranges against current asking prices on Facebook Marketplace and eBay. Asking prices checked October 20, 2026 mostly land inside the ranges, and some ask more. An ask is not a sale.
